Bulls face a desperate Bobcats team tonight; NBA notes

by

Dec 15

Here in Charlotte on a sleepy Monday night so Bill Wennington and I checked out the Bobcats road game in Atlanta.  Most of the patrons at the downtown establishment couldn't care less about the Bobcats. They were focused on the Browns vs. Eagles game.  NBA is an after thought here. The days of the Hornets drawing sellout after sellout crowds are a distant memory.

The Bobcats lost their 7th straight game as the Hawks prevailed 83-79

Here's my Bulls vs. Bobcats preview:

Elsewhere…

Boston now 23-2 as Rajon Rondo stepped up in the final 5:30. The Celtics beat Utah 100-91. The Bulls get a look at the Celtics Friday night-home with the Jazz Saturday. With all due respect to the Bobcats and Clippers, the Bulls need to get these two games in a back to back.

Milwaukee's Michael Redd led the Bucks past the Heat in Miami.

The Raps went cold from the floor in the fourth quarter 4-20- Vince Carter did it again in Toronto. After going 0-13 against his former team Friday night Carter had a 20-10 game. Bad loss for the Raps.

How bad are the 4-18 Wizards? Bad enough to lose at home to a mediocre Pacers team.

You never know what J.R. Smith will show up. On Monday- the good J.R. delivered the goods in a win over Dallas. The Nuggets are playing very well.

Remember when Chuck Person was on everyone's "A"" list for a head coaching job? He was shown the door with Reggie Theus in Sacramento as the Kings elected to go with Kenny Natt.  The Maloof family that own the Kings is now paying Theus, Eric Musselman and Natt  not to coach and to coach.

Mike D'Antoni needs to chill. We get it, Mike. You and the Suns management team  don't like each other. Turn the page and move on. The Suns beat the Knicks 111-103.

Charles Barkley must have read my blog on the Auburn football job. He is bang on.

46 year old Jamie Moyer gets a two year deal with the Phillies. I love it.

Carl Peterson steps down as GM of the Chiefs. Good football man but his time had come.

Always a pleasure cswirsky@bulls.com.
