Rose and Bulls are jazzier again against UtahPlayers need to step up with Gooden out.

Vinny Del Negro played small ball Saturday night and it proved to be successful in the Bulls win over the Jazz. Detroit will feature a different look and it will be interesting to see what adjustments the Bulls will make now that Drew Gooden will miss the next 7-10 days with an ankle injury. Gooden sat out the Jazz game as well and the Bulls received great production from their starting guards (Gordon, Rose) and their reserves as Hughes and Sefolosha made significant contributions.
The Pistons dropped to 14-11 losing Sunday on the road to the improving Hawks 85-78. Michael Curry benched Allen Iverson for the majority of crunch time. The Pistons with Iverson on the roster are a .500 team. Boston , Cleveland and Orlando are the elite teams in the East. The Pistons are now looking to survey the free agent field in 2009 with a boat load of cap room if they elect not to bring back Iverson and Rasheed Wallace. Don’t think for a second GM Joe Dumars ( who is an excellent GM) didn’t make the Iverson-Billups trade with an eye toward cap flexibility. The Pistons window for a championship has closed. The Pistons may not admit it but it’s true. In Atlanta, Rip Hamilton got tossed after getting whacked by Michael Bibby. The refs failed to call a foul on the Atlanta guard and Hamilton said a few choice words to Rodney Mott and that was that.
>By the way, don’t look now but the Hawks are seven games over.500.
Boston won its 18th straight pounding NY. The Celtics go to 26-2. Rajon Rondo, a lock for MIP scored 26 points-dished out 5 dimes and pulled down 6 boards. The kid has played his tail off.
Are things that bad in Washington? Yes. The Wizards now 4-21 after getting smacked by the Mavs.
The Cavs are on a major roll. I honestly never saw this coming. I knew they would be good..not this good.
