Suns Get Richardson from Bobcats; Wash-Memphis-Hornets Add.

by

Phoenix fleeced the Bobcats. Not sure who made the deal. Was it Michael Jordan? Rod Higgins? Larry Brown?  Whoever pulled the trigger on this deal for Charlotte will probably justify the trade by noting Raja Bell's toughness and Boris Diaw's defense. Both players worked well in the SUNS system. Steve Nash made Bell and Diaw better. Not sure Raymond Felton is in that class  Jared Dudley is NOT a throw in. This kid has a great feel for the game and knows how to play positional defense. However, Richardson is a scoring machine and will fit in extremely well with the Suns as Phoenix continues to make major changes with its roster over a year span.

ESPN broke the story less than an hour ago. A three team deal. The much traveled Mike James and Javaris Crittenton are on their way to the guard-depleted Wizards.   The often banged up Antonio Daniels is headed to the Hornets and the financially strapped Grizz get a future #1 pick rumored to have been their own that they sent to Washington for Juan Carlos Navarro who played last year in the NBA then announced he was headed back to Spain.

Marc Stein is reporting Gilbert Arenas expected January return to the Washington roster may be on hold. He's coming off knee surgery

Thoughts?  Crittenton has a boat load of potential.  Daniels is a solid vet who should help the Hornets. James loves to shoot and shoot and shoot.  When he's in the zone he can toss them in from forty-feet.

The Bulls beat the Knicks. That is a fact. The Bulls also realize they were fortunate to come away with a win. The Bulls gave NY wide open looks on the wings and fortunately for the Bulls the Knicks missed shots. NY picked a bad time to go cold with the game on the line late in the fourth quarter. Ben Gordon and Larry Hughes hit big shots as the Bulls pulled to within one game of .500.

Here's my post game report:

Bulls and Grizz coming up Friday in Memphis with pre-game coverage set for 6:30 on the Bulls Radio Network.

Elsewhere. No stopping LeBron and the Cavs. Cleveland won its ninth straight by at least 12 points. The Cavs are 18-3. The Raps have lost five straight.

Shaq scored 35. No this isn't 1997. You got it right. Shaq with 35 against the Bucks. Imagine if Shaq had played against the Warriors. Are we talking 50? He also grabbed eight boards and blocked three shots. The Bucks have lost six of their last eight games.

Yao with 19 boards in Houston's win over Atlanta. Big Luis Scola fan..a double -double of 12 and 10.

Josh Howard is out for a while with an ankle injury. The Mavs lost a wild one to the Spurs 133-126. Tim Duncan with 32. Dirk with 35.

Kevin McHale is back on the bench and the T-Wolves remain in the loss column. Okur with a 21-13 game as the Jazz got the win.

You tell me what's going on with the Pistons? Washington 107 Detroit 94. The Pistons blew a 17-point lead.

Sac surprised Kobe and the Lakers winning by 12.

Big time win for the Magic on the road beating a tired Portland club 109-108. Brandon Roy with a 30-9-5 game.

According to published reports Juwan Howard will sign with the Bobcats.

If the Padres plan to trade Jake Peavy just do it.

I was hoping Kerry Wood would sign with the White Sox. The Indians appear on the verge of getting the former Cub.

Great pick up by the Mets getting K-Rod.

CC may want to be a Dodger but if the Yankees blow LA out of the water with cold hard cash look for him to go the Bronx.

Another soap opera in DC with Redskins owner Dan Snyder. Is Jim Zorn a one and done? How much pull does Clinton Portis have?

E-mail me your thoughts on the Bulls and the rest of the NBA at cswirsky@bulls.com

Always a pleasure.
