The NBA announced on Saturday afternoon that Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook will replace injured Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose (bruised right hip) in the 2010 Taco Bell Skills Challenge, part of tonight’s NBA All-Star Saturday Night at American Airlines Center in Dallas.

Playing for the Sophomore Team in Friday’s T-Mobile Rookie Challenge & Jam, Westbrook scored a game-high 40 points. The Rookies defeated the Sophomores 140-128.

The Taco Bell Skills Challenge will be televised live nationally as part of the NBA All-Star Saturday Night, which will also feature the Sprite Slam Dunk, Foot Locker Three-Point Shootout, Haier Shooting Stars and NBA All-Star Jam Session presented by adidas. TNT and ESPN Radio’s national coverage will begin at 8 p.m. EST.
