The Chicago/Midwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences honored BullsTV with two Emmy awards at the 55th annual Chicago/Midwest Emmy ceremony held on Sunday night in the West Loop.

In the category of Outstanding Crafts Achievement Off-Air, BullsTV’s “Carol of the Bulls” won for Technical Achievement and Photographer (non-news).

“Since we launched BullsTV in 2009, we have seen the capabilities of our production staff grow tremendously,” said President & COO Michael Reinsdorf. “Beyond the video produced exclusively for Bulls.com, BullsTV contributes to the business goals of the organization in so many ways. It is a great honor to see them recognized by their peers in our region.”

In “Carol of the Bulls”, released last December on the team’s website and social media outlets, Benny the Bull and the Elevators perform a high flying holiday dunk spectacular. The feature was created using a slew of production techniques and technologies which provide a high production value at an economical cost. It was shot primarily on a Canon 5D Mark III with a Digital Juice SlyderDolly. BullsTV then used Twixtor software to blend and create frames, achieving the super slow motion effect.

These are the first Emmy awards for BullsTV and its team of senior producer Brad Siegel, creative producer Josh Kahn, assistant producer Chris Ramirez, editor Jason Polevoi, videographer Kate Sedrowski, and Jeremy Thum, who oversees the team’s interactive marketing department. BullsTV has been nominated a total of nine times.
