An early season test for the Bulls tonight (7PM) on the Bulls Radio Network and Comcast Chicago as they meet the NBA Champion Boston Celtics.
You know the story on Pierce, Allen and KG but an intriguing matchup is Rajon Rondo and Derrick Rose. These two young players are lightening fast and are extremely athletic. Rondo earned the respect of the veterans last season with his mature play as Rose is with the Bulls. The Bulls players know if they're open, Rose will find them.
Thomas must be careful not to get in early foul trouble against Kevin Garnett--easier said than done.
Here's a guy I want on my roster any day of the week....Leon Powe. He gets after it on the boards and backs down from no one.
Now that James Posey moved on to New Orleans, Chicagoan Tony Allen will received increased playing time.
Rose and Tyrus Thomas sat out Thursday's practice but are expected to be in the lineup tonight.
Quick NBA thoughts:
The Pistons Joe Dumars should be in a terrific mood this morning. He locked up and up and coming star in James Maxiell to a four year twenty million dollar deal. "Star" from the standpoint that he is a perfect Piston type player and in Detroit's system he will thrive. Maxiell went for the guaranteed cash but in my opinion Detroit got a bargain.
Chris Paul had a great opener and he followed it up with another sensational performance dropping 20 points 10 assists on the Suns.
Yao with a 30-13 game as the Rockets beat the Mavs.
LeBron was , well, LeBron-what more can I say as the Cavs beat the Bobcats. No truth to the rumor Larry Brown picked up the phone and ask Michael Jordan to replace the Bobcats roster with the old Carolina Cougars players.
Knowing Mark Cuban I can assure you that the 2010 NBA All Star Game in Dallas at the new Cowboys stadium will be a major-major blowout like none other.
Thanks for logging on. I'll catch you on the radio tonight at 6:30 on the Bulls radio network-in Chicago on ESPN 1000 or just log on to Bulls.com and click the listen link.
Always a pleasure.
Chuck
