How’s that saying go this time of year about the Spurs springing ahead and the Bulls falling back?
It was something like that Sunday as the day lasted too long for the Bulls as they trailed the defending champions for all but a few seconds in the first minute of the game and lost 116-105.
The defeat left the Bulls …

The Bulls lost a game Friday, but they may have found another answer to a longer season.
Bulls rookie Doug McDermott had his best game of the season with a career high 16 points, 12 in a second quarter blitz that was the Bulls best sustained offensive sequence of the game. The Bulls would lose 98-84 to the Indiana Pacers, …

So whom did the Bulls upset?
“What can we say?” shrugged Jimmy Butler Tuesday morning as the Bulls prepared to play the Washington Wizards. “It happens. Three years (in a row injuries for the team), two years, whatever it may be, there’s not too much we can really do about it. Injuries happen. We’re athletes, we push our bodies to …

One of my favorite Western movies is an 80’s campy film, Silverado, with a lot of stars who were not stars yet. There’s a wonderfully understated scene in which the bad guy sheriff played by Brian Dennehy shows up at the site of a jailbreak where the good guys got away and took out a few more of his corrupt …

The Bulls Friday got an encouraging message about Derrick Rose for a change, successful knee surgery that could have him back on the basketball court before the end of the regular season. Then Rose encouraged his backcourt teammate, Jimmy Butler, and it made all the difference in a 96-89 Bulls victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Butler said he spoke with …

Call it the six most feared words for Rose, the Bulls, their fans and the NBA community.
The Bulls’ media release Tuesday night arrived, once again with stunning disappointment and despair:
“Derrick Rose reported today with right knee pain. An exam and subsequent MRI confirmed a medial meniscus tear of the right knee.

It was no surprise one of the early wire service reports Monday after the Bulls 87-71 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks began, “Ian Snell scored 20 points, Nikola Mirotic had 16 points and a career high 14 rebounds, and the surging Chicago Bulls…”
I know, I know. Who is that guy?
It couldn’t be the Tony Snell we know, timidly …

You’ve heard the questions and the lament as Taj Gibson dropped balls, wasn’t always able to finish at the rim, played well, but, well, not as well as expected. His scoring well down. Must be pouting because he’s not starting, went one theory. Upset with trade rumors went another. Jealous of contracts other players are getting.
Gibson heard it all …

There was some very good news for the Bulls Friday in their 100-91 loss to the Detroit Pistons, their 10th loss this season to a sub.-500 team with eight of them to teams at least 10 games below. 500.
None of those teams will be in the playoffs.
Yes, you better laugh after this one. Or you’ll cry.
The Bulls, …

Derrick Rose sliced and diced, he slashed and dashed. The warmth from the community covered him like a familiar blanket in the verbal salutes. The Bulls Thursday on national TNT dominated the Cleveland Cavaliers 113-98, and if it wasn’t exactly like old times, it sure seemed a lot like it and felt awfully good for the Bulls.
“When I’m out …
