Training camp is past with the two-a-day practices. There are no more relatively meaningless preseason games. It’s a normal 82-game season. Yes, it’s time to begin the regular season for the Bulls Wednesday in the United Center against the Sacramento Kings. And while everyone is relieved, perhaps no one will be more so than Taj Gibson.

Because once the Bulls …

Who says the Bulls couldn’t finish third in the Eastern Conference without Derrick Rose? Well, they just did. Oh, right. Preseason. But the Bulls finished a good one for them with a 97-90 victory over the Central Division favored Indiana Pacers at the University of Notre Dame Friday night.

“It was great to play a really good team,” said Carlos …

I must admit I have trouble asking men about certain parts of their anatomy. Well, women, too.

But as the fearsome and fearless if not feckless journalist and prober, all questions must be considered.

So here we go again about Kirk Hinrich’s groin tweak.

I still flinch writing it.

In any case, as expected Hinrich sat out Friday’s final preseason …

Hello, this is Gar Forman. Is Derek Fisher there? No. Well, how about Mike James? OK, what about Chris Quinn? Zabian Dowdell?

I don’t think the Bulls are quite there yet. But in defeating the Oklahoma City Thunder 94-89 Tuesday in the United Center, the Bulls endured the worst of all tweaks.

This being the one to Kirk Hinrich, the …

Though he hasn’t spoke to Derrick Rose since Rose began attacking the rehabilitation of his left knee, Oklahoma City’s Kevin Durant believes he has a pretty good idea of what to expect from someone he’s considered a friend for the last two years.

“I’m sure he’s going to have a really, really nice comeback here for the Bulls and be …

After all those mostly underperforming “M’s,” — Minnesota, Milwaukee and Memphis — the Bulls get a look at a real contender Tuesday at the United Center, the Western Conference champion Oklahoma City Thunder.

Though mostly overshadowed by the Lakers and their high profile additions of Dwight Howard and Steve Nash, most around the NBA still consider the Thunder the favorites …

So how do you like me now, Carlos Boozer might have been saying Friday night in the Bulls’ 92-81 preseason victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Boozer didn’t say anything of the sort as he doesn’t much speak that way. But it was the kind of game—24 points, mostly with strong post moves, nine rebounds, four assists and four steals—that many …

The last time the Bucks saw the Bulls, Derrick Rose was putting the finishing touches on a 30-point, 11-assist night by draining a 20-foot jumper at the buzzer to give Chicago a 106-104 victory in Milwaukee.

It was Chicago’s fourth victory in as many meetings last season and eighth overall in the series.

“He keeps the constant pressure on you …

Taj Gibson may be the Bulls, at least the Bulls without Derrick Rose.

“It’s up to us to fill in the blank spots and recover for what we lost and do what we need to do,” Gibson said as with the Bulls also preparing to host the Milwaukee Bucks Tuesday at the United Center in the team’s fourth preseason game. …

First place, baby!

OK, perhaps it’s a bit too soon to celebrate being undefeated after the Bulls sweat-it-out 92-88 win Tuesday at the United Center over the Memphis Grizzlies in the preseason opener.

“Choppy,” Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau offered about a stuttering start and then a big third quarter before a group of regular irregulars shot one for 21 in …
