I’d grade the Bulls draft pretty well, though incomplete for now given we won’t know for a few years what they have in Nikola Mirotic, the 6-10 scoring forward from Montenegro whom the Bulls acquired for their Nos. 28 and 43 picks.

So they add for their roster just Marquette’s Jimmy Butler, a rugged big/guard small forward defender.

And the…

Below is my pick-by-pick reaction to the 2011 NBA Draft as it unfolded live on June 23.

1. Cleveland: Kyrie Irving As expected. I still have my doubts, though not because I dislike Irving. The tactic, to me, was to pick Derrick Williams and get a point guard at 4, either Knight or Irving as Minnesota isn’t taking a point…

Thursday morning’s first group was headlined by former Ohio State star and consensus…

I assume he said he wasn’t going to any franchise with that kind…

So what happens next?

The Bulls Tuesday in losing the opening round playoff series to the Cleveland Cavaliers 4-1 concluded what generally was a successful season with a second straight 41-41 record and first round playoff elimination. Yes, even with another first round out. This was to be the appetizer.

But given injuries that cost Joakim…
